New and Improved Apple Stores

Apple stores are not only the hot new place to buy phones, tablets and computers; but also to see new and exciting artwork. Apple's newest improvement to the store is showing artwork that has been made only on iPhone's, iPad's, or Mac Computers. Apple has hired 12 artist with these devices to design artwork for the stores all over the world. These new artists say they went from brushes and a canvas to one app (also called Brushes), which lets them "paint" on their phones, in just a few hours. One of the new artists, Austin Mann now says that his favorite thing to do is faster and easier with his iPhone.

This has also opened up a new window for photography. Some of the artists say it is now very easy to see something beautiful and click one button for it to be considered "amazing artwork".

Some may think this a great idea, which I agree with them, this is a great opportunity for the artists and for Apple. But, I can see the other side, to which most people want it to be original. Anyone can take a picture of a mountain and it be a good picture, but when you paint with paint brushes and a canvas, you paint/draw from your brain or your heart. It's YOUR art, not the world's.

Thirsty?

I once read an article about how animals drink their water and how they become so thirsty. I personally think that dogs and cats are much smarter than we really think. If dogs can figure out how to drink water, they must be smart.

Scientists have recently come to the conclusion that humans use the suction method. We suck in with our mouths and our cheeks pretend like vacuums. Dogs on the other hand can not really do that. So they have a different method. Dogs always have their tongues out so, when they are thirsty, they just scoop it up with their tongues. I think that is why dogs make such a mess when they are drinking water. Some of the water spills out and gets all over the place. Cats also use their tongues to drink water, but they aren't as messy.

Why do you think dogs are much more messy drinkers than cats?

"High Strung"

"Nik Wallenda is a daredevil", says Chicago Tribune. He's put a new meaning to "high strung". November 2, 2014, Wallenda walked on a tightrope stretched between two skyscrapers. Over 50,000 people came out to watch him attempt to walk across this rope.

Nik walked on the tightrope in windy conditions and with no safety equipment. The rope was 630 feet off the ground, across the Chicago River. He crossed this tightrope in a little over 7 minutes. Then, he had another tightrope planned for 500 feet off the ground from the same two buildings BUT, blindfolded. November 2nd, Nik Wallenda made two world records; highest tightrope between two buildings blindfolded and a record for the steepest walk between two buildings.

I know I would've been very very scared to go on that tightrope in front of all those people but if you think about it, he has so much training, he should be ready for it. Still super scary.

"You guys watching think I'm crazy, but this is what I was made for" Nik Wallenda said as he stepped onto the wire.

The NFL Seems Perfect...

As an innocent bystander, I don't have a fight in this battle, but I do have something to say about it. NFL superstar, Ray Rice plays on the Baltimore Ravens as a running back. He was recently accused of abusing his wife. Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Petersen accused of child abuse.

Really guys, how much are we going to take of this abuse? It's becoming as issue, as you can see. It's never okay to abuse anyone, but when role models and heroes are all the sudden committing a felony, you really know its bad. In my opinion, they should treat them the same as someone who lives on the street. ABUSE IS ABUSE. No matter who is doing it. If found guilty, they should be off their teams and sentenced just like everyone else.

If you or someone you know is being abused call the National Domestic Violence Hotline for help. 1-800-799-7233

Nurse in Dallas contracts Ebola?!

WOW! This is epic. I can't believe that the nurse didn't take the necessary precautions to make sure this didn't happen.

Ebola is becoming something very serious. This particular nurse was taking care or Mr. Thomas Duncan when he came from Africa to Dallas to visit family with Ebola. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that this nurse didn't follow the rules that the CDC set in place so that the nurses didn't get Ebola, and that's why she got it. She came in direct contact with Duncan and wasn't careful enough. CDC also said that other nurses were in contact with Mr. Duncan during the time he was in the hospital, which should be handled. It's sad to have to say but Mr. Duncan didn't survive Ebola. He passed away October 8th.

Someone needs to take control and help prevent from anyone else catching this terrible disease.

America's Expensive Love for Bacon

Have you bought bacon lately? Notice those outrageous prices? Bacon has become very expensive lately, and me personally, I wouldn't waste my money on something that we don’t necessarily need.

I disagree with the expensive process of bacon these days for many reasons. One, the pigs are suffering because YOU want bacon, which applies to science by the killing the pigs based on whats inside of them. Two, for the people who can’t even pay their bills, shouldn't be buying bacon when they could be buying clothes for their kids or school supplies for the year.

I read an article about the bacon prices rising. It said that we are spending on average about four million dollars on bacon a year, which applies to math by the outrageous numbers per year. That’s money that could go to many other things. I understand that the people who raise the pigs and sell them for bacon and other things wouldn't benefit from lowering the prices but, there are many other things out there that they can sell to make a living.
