America's Expensive Love for Bacon

Have you bought bacon lately? Notice those outrageous prices? Bacon has become very expensive lately, and me personally, I wouldn't waste my money on something that we don’t necessarily need.

I disagree with the expensive process of bacon these days for many reasons. One, the pigs are suffering because YOU want bacon, which applies to science by the killing the pigs based on whats inside of them. Two, for the people who can’t even pay their bills, shouldn't be buying bacon when they could be buying clothes for their kids or school supplies for the year.

I read an article about the bacon prices rising. It said that we are spending on average about four million dollars on bacon a year, which applies to math by the outrageous numbers per year. That’s money that could go to many other things. I understand that the people who raise the pigs and sell them for bacon and other things wouldn't benefit from lowering the prices but, there are many other things out there that they can sell to make a living.

  1. Nice article Kacie! I agree bacon isn't a necessity and isn't even healthy for the price to be raised. Bacon isn't something that going to be around for years eventually it's going to become nasty and people are going to disapprove of it. So why waste your money when you can enjoy a healthier alternative! I totally agree with you Kacie you couldn't have said it better.

  2. There is two sides to this story. Yes, people should spend their money on something that would benefit them more but, who doesn't love bacon? Bacon is a creation that was incredibly popular when first invented and will be forever. If we put pity on the pigs for using them as bacon why don't we put pity on the cow for eating their meat as delicious burgers which is sold way more than bacon. I do agree that the prices are to high and some of the extra money can be used for things other than bacon but that's ones opinion. Good article kc!
